Still have that old Audi film on VHS with Walter Röhl on the San Remo in the Quattro.
Also loved the sound of a BDA reverberating through a forest.
Only heard it a few times, the first time we were checking out Glow Worm tunnel near Newnes and someone was doing a test run up the valley.
My two mates and I just sat on the side of the ridge listening, absolutely captivated.
I think I was only about 15 or 16 at the time. It made a lasting impression. :D
Geez Coops, you must be getting up near Pedro's years :eek:
Back when I was a young fella karting, my engine builder was the owner/builder of the infamous 'Trench Digger' Milodon Sprint Car Chev engined Commodore that Wayne Bell piloted.
When Belly was piloting the Corolla Levin we went out testing with him a few times, but I never got to go for run unfortunately. He came kart testing with us a few times and used to have a few laps in my kart, just for fun, and when my mates Dad was out of circulation for a bit, we had the use of his Datto 720 sweep ute for our kart trips.
Amazing how quick an L20 datto engined ute with twin 45 Webers is :D

:p
I worked in many pit areas that Mr Bell also went to,,,

Yea Baby!:cool:
To hazard a guess on the short rev range , It would most likely be the restriction they put on the size off the air intake to try and level the playing field: limited air in= limited revs. But i am not 100% sure if that class is covered by a restricted intake.
Can anyone else see the insect on Rick130 post,or is it just me.....
How did that get there:eek::eek::)
Have a listen to the new (non Turbo) S2000 cars like the Bates Corolla.
Plenty of revs in use, like an old BDA Escort, but better.
