That was my truck though a mate was driving it as their truck had been playing up. It was better on Friday when the Outback Classics were running thur as well.

The protesters did make it difficult though the Police (180 of them) squashed a lot of idiot stuff before the public knew about it. About the TV, they only film the top ten which as you all say, is really boring. The WRC rally is just the same as any ARC rally we can all enjoy through out the year.

Apparently they have been putting boulders on the roads, throwing rocks.....walking out in front of cars....all cause some wallaby might get nailed. FFS....if they are that concerned....go protest in the Outback amongst the carnage their if they are so gung ho for it. Tossers ,

I wnet down to the see the race on Friday and Saturday. Great to see in real life instead on the box.
As for the greenies i saw a car on Friday which had me falling on the floor with laughter. The car had a big sticker on the back saying NO WRC Rally and all the other Greenie style stickers. But the funniest thing , which we were taking the **** out of the bloke for was what manufacture of car this Anti WRC rally sticker was on

It was a 3 year old Subaru , which we had the greatest delight in telling the greenie that he had paid towards wrc with his car . As if it was not for the WRC then no one would really know who Subaru was . Bloody Idiot

Any way some pics from the weekend

seems liike the protesters didn't do anything illegal after all - it was just a publicity tool by the organiser

it makes you wonder if it was just an excuse to abandon some of the stages

The biggest motor-sport event in the world with hundreds of media already talking about it & you think it was a stunt! They had spend millions getting the rally here, then thousands of hours spent trying the appease the locals & the greenies only to drop a stage, mmmm think not! The Rally owners, the WRC Teams & TV networks would be furious over the lost exposure.

Based on the high tension chatter on the Official Rally HF radio network to get the cars back in sync after killing those 2 stages, I would have hated to be inside Rally Base struggling to sort it out

The guy who's rear windscreen WAS smashed on Sunday is a talented local Brisbane lad who deserved better that that crap.

I saw fox sports coverage of the first day of racing but missed the rest due to work, i saw the start of the sunday coverage at work before we got called out and from what i saw there were alot of talking heads and flashback and not much actual coverage of the rally. Still its great to have the rally back here in Oz, i have been out of touch with the WRC scene for the last couple of years and hadnt realised that most of the manufacturer backed teams had dropped out leaving Ford and Citroen to battle it out.
