Not a happy chappy at the moment, got the Freelander back today after spending $1600:eek::eek: the mechanic admitted he caused the problem with the ECU and he wore the cost to All4X4 for the repairs to the ECU plus the cost for a tow truck to take the car there and back. Spoke to Bob Hunt Auto's at Maitland about flushing out the Auto box, which they will do, but the bad news is its only a matter of time before the box fails. the cooling system will have to be flushed again as I have just come back from looking at the coolant and it still has sludge in it. The mechanic did say it will have to be flushed again, and its only a matter of time before the rubber hoses all fail because of contact with the tranny fluid.
I am sitting here having a beer at the moment drowning my sorrows.
P.S See you got a surprise delivered today, it was not me, but my best wishes go out to whoever did it.:):)
Mite of been cheaper maybe to replace the radiator & flush the auto a few times. or get a radiator out of a manual & run a separate auto cooler. To repair the radiator they would have to pull it apart to try & seal the bottom tank & that never works..wonder what a new rad would be worth ????
Someone reminded me today dont know who (fatty) of the time we had a sherif knock on our door not long after we moved out .My parents had rang before to say he called in there first & it was probably to do jury duty,,far from it..When i first started having my problem a doctor sent me for so many tests it wasnt funny & at the time i was work long hours & weekends so i didnt get time to pay any of the bills,so i gave the money to my step mother to pay that was fine, untill the last test it was the one they stick a garden hose with a camera on it down your throat, when the bill came in i gave the money & medicare rebate thingy to my parents to pay,Well they didnt thats what he was there for so we had to pay the bill plus 6 months worth of interest & i was just laid off Fatty saved that one ..When we confronted parents they just said yeah we paid it..yay:eek::eek::eek:
Mate, as you now know, when the sheriff comes a-knocking on your door, its always bad news.:(

AUS let us know about your car ....i would be fuming if my car was at a machanics for that long..
go with the flow Jason. Worrying about shid aint gonna change nothin. Maybe make a list:
- Give fatty a cuddle
- Find a place
- Clear the shed
- Fold the papers
- etc
- etc
Then you can have all your worries sitting on a bit of paper not clogging up your head.
And most of all SMILE :)- Smiles are free and even if you don't feel happy you may make those around you happy.
Chin up buddy. Things have a funny way of working out in the end.
Yep done the papers & was lucky we got them delivered before the kids got home, only just thow.
Mite have to take the door top off the landy so we can deliver the papers in that, sick of driving the crapota..least we didnt get wet this week..
Hey, Buddy having people going through YOUR house when the owner wants to sell it. Its like an invasion of YOUR privacy. About 15 years ago we rented for about two years and the while we were looking to buy in the Cameron Park area, the owner said, through the agent, "not a problem with a rental of about 18 months, no worry", 6 months later the mongrel said "sell" and we had to move, my wife was soooooo stressed out with people coming through the house all the time. She went for a walk each time people came, she was so angry.
Its a very stressful time for you mate and my thoughts are with you and Karen, hang in there mate, think happy thoughts, better times are ahead.
Drove past your place this afternoon, had to drop some people off over in Cardiff South and of cause, past your place is the shortest way back to base. Looked out for you, but you must have been delivering your pamphlets.
Cheers mate:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
