Hi sam this one is blue 202 the yellow one s2a was red 173 before that one was a 61 2a diesel 2.25 before that one was a s3 2.25 before that one was a s2 red 179 & before that one was a s3 baby poo colour 2.25.All LWB i would like to do a SWB now or a wagon...
the green one now has limo tint on the side & rear windows & slider steps looks better anyway.

Yeah, doubt if that "turbo" clutch plate would fit, Banjo, the motor is a rover V6 mounted sideways and attached to a "Jatco" 5 speed auto tranny. Apparently the tranny is Japanese, built by Nissan as it is on a few of the Japanese cars. Being a newby to Landrovers and with them using terms like "Tiptronic Change" I thought it was a BMW box. But I have been proven wrong, I have spoken to a few mechanics and they all say it WILL fail after water entered the tranny. Even the fluid they use is a special synthetic type ( I have the oil type written down here somewhere).
When I took the car to Bob Hunt last week he gave it a full flush, and he has just refilled it with the same fluid they use in Fords, he couldn't see the sense of spending all that money on the right fluid when it is just a waste.
The tranny fluid does not go into the radiator but into a cooler that is mounted behind the radiator, and cooled by radiator coolant. Bob has recommended that should I decide to replace the tranny to put a cooler in from the diesel model which is air cooled, so I won't have the same problem again.

No worries AUS just thought of it thats all..so whats the new one going to be ,disco,defender or a real series .....
That under $10,000 yard on the corner of the main road had a beauty green disco there a couple of months ago i think they had $6000 on it .....
Hey you could allways just let your wife drive it all the time & when it breakes again say aaaahhhhhhh you broke my rover she mite let you get what you want & just get a little car for her to pickup her parents in...tell her it would be more comfortable & easier to get into for them....LOL..

Have'nt written the Freelander off yet, both my wife and myself like it so a final descision will be made when Bob Hunt gets a price on a relacement tranny. No rush the car is going fine at the moment. Apparently you can get new ones from China??? of all places. The cost will not be less than $3000. So we have to weigh that up against trading the car after owning it for 6 months and taking a loss of maybe $5000 to $6000 So you can see we are in a corner. As I have said before the car bodywise is in mint condition.

I could only hope ,but we do love going upto hillborough quarry its fun but karen said its all been block off..kids love getting old stuff to slide down the hills on,car doors & bonnets mainly..
