Let me know if use know anyone that mite be interested in buying or swapping..
you should advertise on gumtree as well as it is free and easy to use.
best of luck with it!
Banjo, You can get a very nice Range Rover classic very cheap. I recently got a 1991 Range Rover V8 Auto, roof Rack Bull Bar, rear step, Mag Wheels, Cooper Tyres 90% tread. Three Fuel Tanks, etc. Good uphostery, New Discs, for only $1200-- unregistered.
Slight insignificant Radiator leak [or hose, have not checked yet].
Needs New Disc Rotors front and back. Easy to repair-- I have had Rotors off a LR before now. A couple of hours work will do it.
So do not pay too much for a RRC. And they are the most comfortable 4wd, though looking at your Avitar you will definately want to convert it to leaf Springs in order to make it into a real Land Rover :D
Oh V8 is expensive on Petrol. We are going to convert it to an Isuzu/MSA/Lt230/2 inch body lift--see my threads in the Isuzu section.
For others a 300TDI may be a better conversion perhaps [if you are not going LPG that is, and do want to convert]. Convert I say Convert-- oops this is not the "Does God Exist" thread :)
You do not need to spend much to get a very nice RRC.
I know people who got Isuzu Counties for 2.5K. It is possible. More Toque than a v8. And 10Litres per 100km, half the fuel of a V8.
Its done car is in the markets
:o Where?! How?! ;)
Secondly, HI EVERYONE! :D
I stumbled upon this thread a few weeks back. Never seen it before then! I read the first page or two, then skipped a few hundred and have been secretly following since. :p
Jase - incredible story and well done posting and for everything that happened in the last 600 pages (I only saw good stuff). hehe
I often find myself procrastinating on AULRO while at work, so I might drop in with comments here and there.... Like for instance: you would swap the series Landy for a BUS of some kind? Why a bus? The rest I totally get. :)
Ahhh a kombi! I have a mate who's slowly been fixing one up (as it keeps breaking down). It has been going well lately and internally it's a camper. It's very nice indeed. Last weekend I saw a kombi towing a boat on a trailer! It was going as well as it could...... I overtook in a 300TDI, so they weren't going fast. :p
G'day Banjo :)
I, much like Judo, have lurked for a while, and Mate I'm blown away, an inspiring story, I wish you the very best
I tend to keep my eye on the markets for LRs, just to see what pops up.
The condition of your landy, and the life it's lead puts it so far above the ones sitting in paddocks with "ran well when last started 8 years ago" in the description it's not funny :D
You should be able to get your asking price or close to it, and there are some decent rangies and discos you could trade it for as well :ohyes:
There's a rebuilt county with galv chassis, rebuild and upgraded 4.6 motor, etc on carsales asking 10, could be an interesting project
Best of luck with whatever you pick, personally I'm backing the Disco   :D
Cheers
