In reply to drifter we have never split them but occasionally had them fall out. Are you sure you are putting them on right as I thought from memory you can put them on back to front but it puts alot of pressure on them

Its probably dry .& there brandnew Rings..Bit of oil first..Plus its got new rod & crank barrings so will be tight for a bit aswell..

yeah we will leave the spark plugs out and spray some oil in and crank it over abit

did abit more to the engine today but we need a new spigot bush as that one is too loose and the old one is too loose on the inside.

They are loose..Take a pic of your flywheel for me Tony..

I will do next time I am out there. the one in the 186 was tight in the engine but loose on the gearbox shaft and the one you gave us was loose on both so am really unsure

Did some more to Harry today..Hopefuly if the weather is ok tomorrow i mite get the baulkhead finished , then back to sanding :mad::(
