well i have missed out on buying a few cars a nice ute i was keen on and a registered swb s3 that looked very good but it ended up going ofr nearly 6k and i couldnt go that far on osmething that was probably going to cost me money. so off to gosford to look at a holden frontera it has a few kms but is small and cheap, i just hope it is in good condition and if i get it i dont have to spend money on it
Changing subject.................
My DVD burner has carked it so I went and bought a new Blu-Ray burner, just finished installing it. cost a bit more (well a lot actually) than a DVD burner but it will do CD and DVD as well as Blu-Ray. Thought I would update as my 5.1 system on my TV is Blu-Ray!!!:D:D
very nice Jim so how much better is blu-ray compared to normal dvd?
Tony, to be honest, the quality of the image is not that much better. There is more control over the programme though, I have to experiment here, as I'm a newby to Blue-ray. I'm gradually updating as things break down. first the old DVD player carked it about a year ago so I updated with the new player to Blue-ray and now the burner has decided to take a holiday (permantly) well, I thought I might as well buy a Blue-ray burner. Still not over yet as I now have to buy a Blue-ray programme to be able to copy for personal use only, blue-ray programmes. I will do that in the near future as my current DVD copying programme can be updated to Blue-ray. At a cost, of cause.:D
I was under the impresion Blu-ray was super quality over DVD.But then again it took us ages to update to a DVD we was still using a video player years after the DVD players came out..
It all boils down to the picture quality of your TV, Banj!!!:D:D Yes like for like Blue-ray is a better quality picture.......just!!:D
Hey Jase, if you want some, I have a heap of old video movies here, probably a hundred or so. You too Tony....going free!!!:D:D Actually, one old movie I won't give away that I have on Video is an old Clint Eastwood, 1980's movie called "Firefox", I love that old movie and until such times that I can get it on DVD/Blue-ray, it stays in my collection.
Thanks for the offer but we too have just dvds and now i dont really buy dvds, i dont think i have bought one for myself for many years.
