I have a few series one steering wheels if he needs work
Got a tow bar put on the little hatchback, yesterday.I had to replace the towing ball on the gooseneck with another (smaller) size ball as my trailor is quite old. Would you believe that Hayman Reese have welded reinforcing on each side (underneath) the gooseneck with the result you cannot get a spanner onto the nut to release the ball.
I don't know why Hayman Reese saw fit to reinforce the gooseneck, what do they think I'm going to tow with a little hatchback, a ten ton trailor???
Adjustable spanner, wouldn't fit, socket set would fit but the screw thread protruded that far through the socket would not reach over the nut. Rang a friend of mine who is a boiler maker, thinking he may have a large range of spanners, no luck. Rang Jason, again no luck. So I took the gooseneck off the towbar and took it back to ISP (who fitted it) and they took the ball off and attached the old one I had.
Alls good now, but I will have to look around for some sort of tube spanner to fit in case I need to change the towing ball!!![]()
would a deep impact socket work?
Fred, I looked too quick at those pics the first time. Congratulations on getting your P's.
Keep driving safe, John.
well I am off to university tomorrow, I can not wait for my new life and to put most of the last 3 years behind me.
No doubt I will be making a trip up to gold coast or brisbane soon
