It was such a nice day today, so Mrs Aus and I decided to have a look at the replica 15th century Portugese Caravelle that is visiting over the weekend.:D We quite enjoyed ourselves.

The ship weighs 60 tonnes and was built over 9 years by a Victorian cabinet maker.

Mrs Aus. seated down inside the ship, not much room, I can tell you.

A small cannon mounted near the port bow. I wouldn't like to take the "Bismark" on with this.
I wanted to get some photo's of the ship from the side.so we decided to catch the ferry to Stockton and I got some good piccies.:D

By the way, how would you like to sleep here, better not suffer from claustrophobia, this was right up in the bow.:o

We enjoyed ourselves, doing something different for a change.
When we were in Newcastle yesterday, we decided to visit Fort Scratchley, when this thing flew over, it is a Gyrocopter, which is similiar to a Helicopter except the main overhead blade freewheels and a "pusher" prop drives it along.:D Luckily I had a 200mm AF telephoto lens attached to my camera at the time, plus I have cropped the image more to see the Gyrocopter properly. You don't see one of these every day, that's for sure.:D:D

While I'm talking about Fort Scratchley, here is a shot of the two six inch guns mounted there, taken from the parade ground. I marched many times on that parade ground in my CMF days.:D:D

A view towards Newcastle Harbour entrance and Nobbies headland.

Newcastle's ocean baths, note the coal ships on the horizon waiting their turn to come in and load coal for Asia.:D

While we were on the ferry, I took a picture of this ship leaving the harbour.:D

The view from the Fort certainly is great, here is another shot looking back to the city.:D

Certainly was a great day weatherwise yesterday.:D:D
Well started to pull the dash out today . Got sofar & stoped its just to big a job.. Although theres now no smoke & the wires arent getting hot. We changed a relay where the wires goto that where getting hot. But with the amount of THICK smoke that filled the car there is defantly something burnt . I recon its a wire burnt threw & thats why they dont get hot anymore.. So i will never trust the car to use it. If it broke down on the side of the road i would go threw the usual things i know how to BUT with what ever made that smoke cant be good. I would only panic if i had to get it towed home & get a lift in the tow truck i just wouldnt haddle that very well & it would be my luck it would be a good few hours away.& to be honest if i knew i was going to have to do this i would of finished building Harry a year ago..
We dont have the money to fix all this disco.I wont use secondhand parts to fix a car specialy suspension parts.
I have had enough & honestly happy for all of them to go. So we will be selling them all for what ever we can get for em.Green one & camper will be going together.. Karen is going to see my brother inlaw & see if he will do the head gaskets on the boy toy subaru as he is a mechanic Has his own business & also works for a company fulltime his business is just part time these days, He & my sister used to own better ride mechanical repairs in at Broardmedow right next to the Knights home ground..
If he cant do it then it will be sold aswell as i realy just dont want to do it..Cant see us getting our money back on disco but ahwell the story of our lives.Cant see me getting much for Harry as its in bits But i want it all gone in one lot.
The reason we want a lot on a car is we realy like going bush BUT realy into the rough stuff. Used to go every weekend rain hail or shine even in the middle of winter.. I have a DVD here of us up the bush but it has a crack on the inside bit that you put on the wheel in your computer , I am trying to get as much off it as i can & wen i do ill post it as we would like to show use. & will explain why we need bullbar suspension & good mud tyres. Its something we enjoy doing & havent been able to do since we sold the nissan. The green one isnt built for it & would just get so much damage that it would be useless for Karen to use for work..
Finally got all the things working on the s3 ready for the blue slip and just one last check of lights and blinkers and ..SNAP.. there goes the indicator. Lucky I have an old one to put in but it is old crappy looking :'(
Speaking of ultralights, Jason. Did you see that little white ultralight last Saturday arvo. It flew several times over Cameron Park and was doing barrel rolls and loop the loops. The pilot must have been having a ball.:D
I have seen this one before, it is a white biplane with an extra wing up front, looks quite strange.:D I was parked in my bus at Cameron Park, so I couldn't grab my camera for some piccies.:(
