By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I would never Have guessed, when I visited, that Harry was in for such a ride. Very glad to see you both in the mend. It all makes me so much more appreciative of Harrys efforts for the kids and me.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
Well, a close uncle died last Wednesday at the ripe old age of 92. We will be going to his funeral next Tuesday.
He fought the Japanese at Milne Bay in New Guinea, and joined the Citizens Military Forces after WW2 and become the BSM of 113 Battery based at Fort Scratchley. I served with him as a Sargent in the 1960's and professionally he gave me a hard time but behind the scenes helped me a lot with good advice from his experience to attain the Sargent's rank.
The funeral will be an RSL affair and as a lot of the family on that side are from the military (one of my cousins is a retired Lt Colonel with Vietnam experience) with several ex Warrant Officers among them.
Should be a large turnout!!! His funeral notice is in the Newcastle Herald today.
If any body is visiting Fort Scratchley on Anzac Day, look for me. I will be dressed in an army uniform of the period (1960's) and will be stationed near the Bristol Bofor anti- aircraft gun. My function will be to tell people about it.
Sadly, I don't fill out a uniform like I used to, I have gained a few bulges in the wrong places.![]()
