Why is there a difference fitting the left and right, Lionel? I'm pleased that the task is getting easier and your life is returning to relative normality.
G'day Jerry,
Thanks for your concern, however unlike the smaller lenses, that fit over the iris, with these new scleral lenses my eye would have to fall out too. That might make it a bit easier to find the lens![]()
With my old smaller lenses, well that was a whole different story!I sure had been there and done that trying to find a small lens in a very big environment while being blind at the time - no not fun, at all at all.
Kind Regards
Lionel

Hello Ian,
The left eye is solid and righteous; while the right eye is a complete scaredy cat. Especially when the contact lens and the solid insertion thimble is homing in towards it!So I blink and that means the lens does not go in. Or I move my head away and I try and insert the contact lens on to my eye brow - nose - ear
I am pleased to note that today I got the right eye in on the 2nd attempt & the left eye in on the 1st attempt. So that is my best result so far
I still have the feeling of trepidation grip my chest before sitting down to start putting the lenses in. I will be glad when this does not occur.
So considering the last paragraphI am not up to the three dancing bananas yet.
Kind Regards
Lionel
Jason's gone quiet again.![]()
We still here. Sorted out the wedding stuff now. Karen has been back to specialist to find out absolutely nothing..getting sic of this guy fast. Karen has been getting realy bad gut pains so he put her back on nexium. That's the one they give for ulcers. Not kicking in yet. Plus she is still very very tired & sleeps for a few hours of an afternoon. Doesn't sleep well of a night though. Has a 4 day weekend at the moment as Mondays job is on hold while they away. 2 more weeks I think. I'm thinking Bugga the kids after we get married I mite take Karen away even if it's just overnight. Maybe go upto Barrinton tops. Disco need a tune bad plus the tail pipe needs to be fixed still. Karens little car is going good. Fred still loves her new car. I've been on Facebook a fair bit as I joins a bushcrafting group. I also put myself way way outside of my comfort zone a week ago Friday just been. We've been talking to a lady on Facebook & she kept asking so when we going to have a cuppa. Well I invited her over for a cuppa. Got realy nervous but all went well. Had cuppa & yanked for a few hours. That's something I would never do so did it. The group I'm in for bushcrafting has a trading site so have been trading some of my stuff that I don't use for things I will. Also thinking I mite after the wedding jump in the deep end & go on one of the hikes they have.
So that's where we are. We still plodding along slowly.

Well Banjo it's been over 4 1/2 years since you started this thread. Since then you seem to have made some remarkable progress, albeit sometimes two steps forward and one step back. Keep forging ahead Jason, think of the possibilities; you could bring Karen to Queensland for a holiday.Well done mate.
On a different note, I took the Volvo for a RWC today; passed with flying colours. I'll rego it on Monday.

Speaking of FB, you wouldn't believe that Jason has a friend on there that we knowDutch (nickname as his real name is to hard to pronounce) used to be in the Rural Fire Brigade with us for years and lived down the road. I was looking at Jase's pics he posted and there was a comment from Dutch
That Bushcraft group has some interesting things on there.

Well where still here. Only 17 days Togo. Also brought a new toy. I've or we have been looking for one for ages & it's perfect timing to since the wether is warming up. We brought a 12 foot fibreglass canoe. Found on gumtree for $80. I asked how much would it be if they could drop it off as I can't put on disco racks as there plastic & cracked the only thing holding them together is the awning bolted to the legs. There all plastic legs & the joins are plastic in the alloy. So they said yeah sure $100. We said great. They was going to drop off yesterday but got held up but they are coming this afternoon at 5. So I be fishing on the lake this summer. The lake is only minutes away from us so it's great. Karen said she will come out sometimes & is happy to set the awning up & sit & read in the peace & quiet. Karen even said well now you can look at a hood for it cause we had seen some. I'll put some pics up as soon as I workout how to do it using the ipad.
