Defender / County 'wing top' stainless vent.

I like the SS ones I purchased:D

Having a wing protector with the vent built in would be a pain if you wished to get access to the top of the guard.

The factory ones are recessed into the wing on my 2002 defender so you'd have no support under that section if the wing protector was laser cut with vent holes?

Just my thoughts

You would if you left the plastic vent covers fitted;)

I reckon if they were made from 3mm ally they would be strong enough to span the vent hole in the top of the guard without being supported.

Maybe they could be fitted with rivnuts and countersunk bolts, and instead of sealing the edges with silicone which is effectively glueing them down, they could be sealed around the edge with good quality foam tape which only sticks to the underside of the checkerplate, but not to the paint. Then it would just be a matter of undoing the bolts to lift them off.

That'd work.

A couple of times in the last ten years I've had to remove the OE cover to get debris out of the duct and help clean the duckbill drain.
