D3, D4 & RRS new TRIPLE BATTERY Kits

I now have three new TRIPLE BATTERY Kits for a D3, D4 and RRS, with all the batteries mounted under the bonnet.

These kits effectively give you 135Ah of usable accessories power, or the equivalent of having a 170Ah auxiliary battery mounted in the rear of your D3, D4 or RRS.

All my D3, D4 and RRS kits have now been upgraded and are now easier to fit but actually do more to not only protect your cranking battery but the kits designed to supply accessories power to the rear socket, now come supplied with my new 30 amp Low Voltage Cut-Out unit, the ABG-25, which gives protection to prevent over discharging of your auxiliary battery(s).

Like all my D3, D4 and RRS kits, all you need to fit these new kits, are your auxiliary batteries and some basic handyman tool and a Saturday afternoon.

The three new TRIPLE BATTERY Kits are based around my high current USI-160 isolator and my own designed Stainless Steel Battery Tray and the kits are :-

D3-TB2 = $800 ( as of 07/2022 ), the standard TRIPLE BATTERY Kit + Rear Power Socket Kit including the ABG-25

D3-TB5 = $925 ( as of 07/2022 ), the Full Power Cable kit, which includes the TRIPLE BATTERY Kit standard kit + Rear Power Socket Kit including the ABG-25 + cabling to the rear to power a camper trailer or caravan.

Here is a picture of the engine bay part of the new TRIPLE BATTERY Kits and a wiring diagram of the D3-TB5 kit.

    Petrol D3

Great kit. If you have a petrol D3 though you will have to make a bracket to move the brake booster vacuum pump, not to hard.

Just wondering if you already have the dual system in the D4, would you be able to only fit what you need to turn it into the triple system?

Wow a 5 year old thread!

    Hi Tim

Whats involved in fitting a triple kit to a stock 2013 TDV6? I have a usi-160 from another car that I can reuse and I’m quite electrically literate.

Essentially you just need to link the 2 aux batteries as per the diagram Tim posted, the rest is up to how you want it setup.
