Thread: Rijidij Tube Bull Bar, Defender, County

If I'm honest, I was only driven purely by looks. It'll be a while before I get round to fitting a winch and I preferred the look of the main hoops moved forward so it isn't too obvious that there's a gaping space where a winch should go!!
I wasn't even aware of the potential ADR issues It's just luck I suppose that the hoop has ended up more vertical!

I'm such an idiot, I saw that in the thread and thought it looked good, didn't even notice the changes then though

In the picture below I've Photoshopped the side bars and raised the middle bar so the side bars are above the lights.

It's funny you should ask this question today, I literally just finished the prototype and will be taking it to the powder coaters tomorrow.
The centre tube is 60mm and the outer tubes are 50mm. I think it will look better than the photoshop pic once it's finished.

That looks a lot better than I imagined, cant wait to see it powder coated.








Just an idea could accessorize it by making some light guards that screw in and out of the bar (option) obviously they wouldn't give as much protection than a guard that is directly over the light but would offer some stone protection from stuff being thrown up directly in front.

At first I wasn't sure the outer bars would suit this type of bull bar, but having done this one in the flesh I think it looks good, I'm keen to see it powder coated and fitted to a Defender. I'd refer to it as a 'Hybrid' bar as it combines the 'off road' bar and a 'touring' bar.

Regarding the light guards, anything is possible. It would probably only require some tabs welded onto the tubes and some polycarbonate sheet cut to fit.

I meant the light guards like nugget has just put on his.

I think the poly ones would be ok to but I would have thought they would break if a rock hit one at that size?? I don't know the polycarb ones I had on my Defender had a curvature to them in not sure if that was for strength or for deflection of rocks

Looks very tidy Murray and I'm sure will look great when powder coated and fitted. How does the price compare with your standard tube bars?
