LLAMS for L462 Discovery (D5)
LLAMS has been demonstrated to work in the new Discovery. However kits wont generally be available just yet, waiting for confirmation of availability and lead-time of a short brake controller extension loom from which to source permanent power. Last week my loom supplier accepted the challenge after I supplied them with the plug and socket part numbers.
Whilst it was anticipated that a separate power wire would be required due to no provision for CVDs in this vehicle (CVD section power for L494, L405 and the L560 Velar is in one of the connectors intercepted whereas the suspension section's power isn't), running a wire to the nearest fuse panel is not as simple as hoped. Therefore power will be taken from the nearby trailer brake controller socket, hopefully using a short extension loom to allow a brake controller to be fitted as well as LLAMS. Once confirmed that the leads will be available, kits will be available for anyone not wanting to wait using an interim bullet connector wire fitted to the trailer brake controller socket power pin then the extension lead forwarded when available. Note that in the interim, LLAMS and a brake controller are mutually exclusive so the loop-back plug needs to be used whilst a brake controller is fitted unless a person was to make their own LLAMS power connection to the brake controller lead. The LLAMS power lead is fitted with an inline 5A fuse.
