    Sounds like you did the right thing blocking her mate.

    People on ebay are ridiculous. Only negative feedback i got was from i had an engine for sale on gumtree and ebay someone bought it from on gumtree then before i could pull the ad down on ebay somebody bought it on there.
    Told him it was sold already explained i didnt get the chance to take ad off so he left me negative feedback, Ebay wouldn't remove it either.

    Having an issue also - but this time from the buyers perspective.

    Bought a trail cam off ebay from a seller with 99.9% positive feedback and it worked well for two days but has failed and will not power up. Paid from my credit card via paypal.

    Contacted the seller and of course says sorry and thats it. Send another message asking what they intend to do about this - they responded that they wanted a video of the fault - hmm it doesn't work. So I make a 9sec vid switching the cam on and showing the red indicator light not coming on - reduce it to 8mb and send it off - ebay comes back and says still pics only no vids. Seller then sends a message to put it on Youtube and email the link - a no no as ebay does not allow links to videos. Advise seller to send an no ebay email address.

    Get a email address that is the sellers "technical" department and send the vid - get a response it will take 2 weeks for them to review is that OK? Stalling? I say no it is not and advise I will start a Resolution case - checked Paypal and they no longer have their own resolution process and just refer to the ebay one.

    Get a message from the seller today that as it will cost me lots to ship the cam back, he would let me keep the old cam and refund my 50% of the purchase price - WTF. First it is the sellers responsibility to pay reasonable shipping costs to return a faulty item and it is their responsibility to either, fix, replace or refund.

    So I say no - full refund and they can pay to ship the old item back - no response as yet.

    I am not sure what ebay will do when I tell them I am not happy with the response, but I am thinking a visit to the bank to do a charge reversal on the credit card using the e-mails as evidence might be the go.

    Unfortunately I gave positive feedback as the cam was working at the time. I would change that if I could and in future will wait a while after purchase.

    So a buyers perspective to the ebay process.

    I had exactly that with a faulty bench power supply except I ordered a 10A 30V and they shipped a 5A 60V with a 110V input. It had loose bits rattling around inside and as it wasn't marked 110V when I plugged it in the magic smoke escaped with a "phut".

    First they tried to tell me to get it repaired locally and they'd pay $30 towards that. I argued the point which led to;
    They insisted I return it at my cost. I argued that, which led to;
    Then they said I was to return it and they would re-imburse me directly. I could see that coming from a mile off, so;
    I just bundled up all the evidence, opened an E-bay case and in 72 hours had the funds back in my account.

    Cost me about $30 in parts and a couple of hours to repair and re-configure for 230V. I would have returned it if they'd sent a pre-paid label, but the postage would have been about the same value as the device.

    They did manage to delay me enough that I couldn't leave negative feedback, which was what they were trying to do.

    Thanks - yes too late for that as I had already left positive feedback.

    I also note now that as I have lodged a Resolution Case the item has been removed from my purchased list. Ebay have indicated I can ask them to intervene on 14 May which is what I will do then - if no luck soon after, off to the bank.

    Ebay really do make it hard for both sellers and buyers, it is as if Ebay just want issues to go away.

    So after the sellers offer to refund 50% was rejected, he now offers 65% refund and keep the old cam - but it does not work so no point.

    So I have indicated no further correspondence and on 14 May (as advised by ebay) I will ask ebay to intervene - if no luck there it is off to the bank to do a charge back using the emails as evidence that the seller is being difficult.

    Not used Amazon Aust - are they any better? What about AliExpress?

    Hi Eevo, who do you use, I seem to find most of them are crap, Amazon is usually expensive and sometimes takes weeks to deliver, most of the vendors websites are OK, but that's not really the same as Ebay. For secondhand stuff. I'm still getting spam from foolishly listing a vehicle on Gumtree, they are dead to me and most for sale stuff seems to have migrated to Facebook which I've started to use after ignoring it for 15 years.

    Well that advice to the seller did the trick, they obviously did not want to get ebay fully involved as I received an email from Paypal that I had a full refund. So end of story.

    Still got the old one - did work for a couple of days so I guess I can play with it.

    At the same time I got this cheapy from ebay I bought a much more expensive one from the 4WD Supercentre. It worked fine during the day but at night it worked but the IR leds did not work so was all dark even though the cam detected movement and recorded. The warranty claim process was a bit convoluted but no real issues and a new one arrived in the mail that works great - the 4wd Supercentre never ever asked about return of the old unit which I could have done as I have since found out they have a store locally.

    So now I have a cheap Cam that did work and doesn't now and a more expensive cam that works fine during the day but not at night. I guess time to get the multimeter and soldering iron out.

    This highlights it is better to wherever buy from a physical shop as it is easier to return things if there are issues.

    It also highlights the topic raised in this thread concerning sellers having issues - while my items are genuinely broken and I am not trying to rip anyone off, I could have simply claimed they were faulty, when they were not and got refunds or new items without having to return anything.

    About 15 years ago I bought some smoke masks off eBay. Seller was in China but was an old Australian guy. Masks turned up but he charged about 30% more than what was on the invoice. I contacted him and was told that he'd decided to change the price and not to worry because it was still a good price. I pointed out that under the laws of contract we'd agreed to a price and he couldn't unilaterally change it. Went back and forth a few times and to my disbelief he refused to refund the money. I then went to my bank and got a chargeback.
