I have dozens visiting my house in the Central Coast.
I have no problems with them as I have a bush "garden" and it slopes down to the road.
If they chose to build a mound I would be happy as they would shift some of the burnable leaf litter away from the house.
One little know feature is that they can fly reasonably well. They roost in the highest branch of a high tree each night. Luckily I have no high trees that are reachable with a scrabble and fly, but my neighbor across the road curses them as they scramble up his tin roof each night to reach a low branch on a tree next to the house, and from that jump ever upward.
They come when I put out sunflower seed for the King parrots, but the Lorikeets bite them on the toes which dissuades them.
