Check out the list of diseases at the bottom of the page, with the Dept of healths' advice on each.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I got Ross river fever in Sydney a few years back...I was lucky as I was only affected badly for a couple of days.. extreme joint pain and unable to move as joints seized up. I know another person who got it in Sydney and has been left unable to work, and he was in his mid 30's with a property maintenance business. I though this was a tropical disease!! I have since been diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica, same symptoms but according to the experts it is unrelated. This time I have long term problems. Jim

Surely anyone bringing the virus into Australia only has to be bitten by the right type of mosquito and it will spread easily.

That's why the health authorities recommend anyone with the disease must not go to Northern Australia. Don't know what happens if they live there....
