Yes

Let's take one at a time. End times. That could mean in a religious way, or mass extinction. The way we are treating our planet,I'll go for Mass extinction. If humans keep travelling down the road they are on, nothing we can do about that. No point prepping for life after that, you'd only have cockroaches for company. Religious? There is a bunch of lunatics in the Middle East , whose main aim in life is to commit murder and mayhem, in order to cause Armageddon, the final battle between good and evil, according to the Bible. Now, my generation lived thru the nuclear Armageddon, people built shelters, to survive the first strike, totally illogically really, they would emerge to a nuclear desert, three eyed fish, and a glowing landscape.
Let's have a look at what the other side is doing to sort this out. Those on the side of "good", are committing murder and mayhem in order to get rid of those on the side of " evil " . I can't quite get my head around that.
Enough of that, or we'll open a can of worms. Preparing for a Disaster? Smart thing to do. Done with the premiss that there will be hope after the disaster, life will go on. Glass half full stuff.
Now, the third. The Mass extinction , because modern humans have killed the Planet. Our disconnect . Or, the predicted wars over food and water. Either way, preparing for a cluster ****. Or the zombie apocalypse, for that matter. I can't help feeling that preppers are basically selfish, anti-social humans, who sense a major problem in the Force, and deal with that by running away, instead of standing up to be counted, to deal with the problem, face on. Thankfully, there are Humans who are prepared to work to find a solution. Now, everyone should be prepared, of course. However, the premiss should always be that there will be life after the apocalypse, Darth Vader will be defeated, life may not be the same, but it will be worth living. After all, humans have done that since day one. Just some of my thoughts, after the first coffee in the morning.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
