The pollsters should have taken more note of Top Gears visit to Alabama. "Hillary for President" on the side of the vehicle did not go down too well...although the results where somewhat muddied by "Western music is rubbish" and "Man Love".

Not sure that "No amount of conspiracy theories will change that" should be in a list of key features, but on the other hand...

Love Wiki. Seems Sir John Kerr believed he could act on uncodified reserve powers, negating the idea that he had to act ..."on the advice of the prime minister".

And a Yes Minister! to the idea of an impartial career public service.

And yes.. you're the Grenade thrower! I enjoy these threads immensely... they get the mind clicking over...

In this case, the discussion because about the people governing to which you posted a verbatim from the Westminster definition book.. it fails to account for the reality of the world and how it's working....(or not)...

I haven't disagreed with your passages on the structure, just challenged the belief that it makes a difference (a real difference) who we vote for.
Good for you Tombie. For a moment there I thought I'd lost you. Me throwing it out there means nothing if passionate intelligent people don't take up the challenge. The problem sometimes on social media [ or unsocial media] is that everything becomes personal, and the message is lost. Long live AULRO.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

THANK YOU workingonit! This thread would have meant nothing without Yes Minister. Gotta love it.
