Roundtable to discuss ways of suicide prevention in the ADF, in Townsville

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Be good if they looked at the causes but they wont, they will introduce more things and say we are fighting the problem...

DVA are part of the problem and the way ADF works is the start...

We lose too many people because of the bandaid solutions that this society has adopted, there is no compassion or empathy by departments, just rules, standing orders and procedures...
A lack of personality in these organisations and the ADF isn't helping...

Don't despair mate. People at the grass roots are trying. Our local advocate, and his offsider, recently helped an Afghanistan veteran whose immediate family red flagged a suicide attempt. The welfare team did their thing, the veteran is where he can best be helped, his family is being supported. Having said that, none of this could have been achieved without DVA support. Credit where credit is due. [ DVA can be nasty, my advice is, get a good advocate]
