Heard a report yesterday that Nth. Korea has 12,000 large calibre artillery pieces just across the border from Seoul, able to concentrate on an area where there are 14 million people. This has to be taken into account when determining any punitive strikes on the North. It would seem tactically the North has the upper hand, any major escalation would see a flood of refugees north, into China, and South, to you know where, unlike any seen before. We live in interesting times.

North Korea claims first intercontinental ballistic missile test

The range of that missile was only calculated from the footage that has been seen. So it could go a lot further. North Korea was only testing the missile to see if all systems worked not how far it would go. See that the US and South Korea held there own missiles tests within twenty four hours of North Korea`s test. Nothing like a bit of brinkmanship to keep the tension up. This is why China and Russia is calling for the US and South Korea to stop these sort of sabre rattling exercises.
