World War 2 in the Indian Ocean a little known battle
A Dutch oil tanker, an Indian corvette escort [ but manned by Australians ], Vs two Japanese commerce raiders. Outgunned by the Japanese, the unlikely outcome surprised everyone. I have never heard of the Indian Navy Corvette manned & commanded by Australians. It was almost like a Monty Python episode that the Dutch tanker threw overboard all the codes and cyphers [ standard practice to avoid them falling in to Japanese hands] , then after abandoning ship, reboarded and got her underway again. They had to send signals uncoded, the Australian authorities thought they were Japanese, and vice versa.

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
