AUKUS not primarily about nuclear submarines.

It's about AI, and software. No one in the know seriously expects a Country with no history of nuclear power to actually build nuclear submarines, especially one with Australia's low manufacturing base.

A former Undersecretary of State for political affairs has said the most remarkable thing about AUKUS , is Canberra's commitment " to an adversarial role with China". Thomas Shannon went on to say " If we are smart, we will take advantage of it ". Retired Admiral, Harry Harris, who served as Head of US Pacific Command, and later as ambassador to South Korea , has said " AUKUS is here, I think it is brilliant, it is in fact, a defence alliance".

Looks like we are in the fight, ready or not.

We must hope that history will not judge that our government started the wheels turning towards another cold war, or worse.
