Yes, it's certainly a cheap option.
I would think that most of us have bought one of those crappy $20 plastic air compressors from K-Mart or the auto shop at some stage.
You know the ones I mean, They were the ones that pretty much melted and karked it after pumping up a couple of tyres and they ended up in the bin.
Well I would think that even as useless as those were they would be a better option than one of these air hawks

About the same money and far better..........will not melt easily and you don't have to hold it while its pumping and it will do it far faster/last longer.
SCA have a cheaper smaller one which plugs into cig lighter socket.....better for the missus.
12 Volt Aircompressor - 150PSI, 4x4 - Supercheap Auto
SCA 12 Volt Air Compressor - Thunder - Supercheap Auto
the cheaper one above would eat the air hawk for dinner and its cheaper to purchase.
I have purchased Two to leave in different cars for emergencies and used them on and off for years without problem.
If you want portable they will run fine from a jump starter pack.
Amused the Air Hawk had a half hour spot on the shopping channel tonight. That must have cost some $S.

I wouldnt get the "Air Hawk".
The "Air Dragon" is the way to go. Upgrade to the "Air Dragon Pro" which comes with a nifty led light.
Its obvious a Dragon is a more powerful animal than a Hawk, It practically sells itself.
You need to watch the ad carefully and you will see most of the negative comments on these types of compressors are wrong.
After carefully watching the ad the savvy consumer can ascertain from the shadows in the background that this amazing tool actually speeds up time while inflating your equipment.
Truly I cant see how they can offer 2 for one and free upgrade to the "pro" version for this insane price.
I really hoped the manufacturer would provide a convenient holster belt to carry both when out and about.
My greatest fear is to be left stranded without an economical convenient source of air.
Utter rubbish for pumping car tyres, let alone tyres on 4WD, shouldn't be allowed to advertise it the way they do.
fixes puncture?????? or comes with levers and puncture MAJIkit
