    Torque wrench lost click.

I have a torque wrench and some how I have lost the click noise. i.e. the wrench does not indicate when you are at torque. Are these repairable? I've looked on ebay but no one is selling the click noise The same way that no one sells the smoke, to put back into the elctrical bits, when they let the smoke out.

I guess it is time for a new torque wrench.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Are we torquing deflecting beam or Micrometer?

I recently fixed a 'trip' mechanism on a W&B deflecting beam torque wrench, and while I didn't need any spare parts as it was just seized up, spares are available. If you go to the spare parts page on the W&B website you can see how it all goes together. Quite simple.

I have no idea about the Micrometer type. Looks like this might provide some guidance.

This did help, I took it apart and put it back togther. Still not working. Time for a new torque wrench.

    G'day All,

This is the link to the Click type Torque Wrench Calibration/repair: Fixing and Calibrating a Clicky Style Torque Wrench

    Maybe this might help.

    New Torque Wrench

I have a got a new one from ALDI. The instructions say to tighten up only. Not to loosen. Could I have buggered it up by undoing bolts?

I do not understand this. 'No 4' Do you mean that undoing will not bugger up the click mechanism?

I think he means instead of the 3 torque wrenches you now have you now have 4.

If it doesn't work, then it is not a torque wrench, just a breaker bar. So still only three. Until I change the harmonic balancer or the wheel hubs.
