...yes , they work very well .

If you are going to buy one keep the threads well lubricated.

They only have a short pull and you may have to adjust your legs several times.

Little bit of dexterity helps as you have to support everything until pressure comes on.

In a workshop environment bits seem to go missing and the puller quickly becomes redundant, but if it's for home use and you pack it away oiled and ready for next time it will last you forever.

Never seen that type....we have the wind up ones which work well.....although the porta power gets the job done most of the time.

I have one of the “trade tools” screw hydraulic pullers
I went with a “known” brand bricks n mortar purchase as somewhere
On the internet’s is a story of some bloke who bought the chinkadinka eBay version of the screw hydraulic and when it was struggling he pulled it apart and found the little thread which is supposed to be pushing a hydraulic. Cylinder was just greased and threaded
    Using screw pressure.

At least that chinkadinka one uses a piston which one would assume MUST act on a piston?

They are one of those tools that when you need you need
And the rest of the time they just collect dust
