Lately Victoria is the burning ground.
Now now - We have some lovely weather in between - yesterday was a glorious 38 - nice dry heat, light winds, very pleasant.
However today is heading for low 40's and gale force winds, so back to aweful fire conditions. Tomorrow is forecast for 40mm of rain and mid 30's so sort of like Darwin for the day - all sorts - never a dull moment weather wise down here. [biggrin]
Back to the original post and video - it's basically a neatly put together inverter with lithium battery packs - wonder what sort of price point it will have. Guessing bloody expensive. Can run the 55" TV for 7 hours on 1 battery - if we said around 150 watts for the telly, then around 1000 watt hours or equivalent to around an 80Ah Lithium battery.
Given it can start a circular saw, etc, I'm guessing the inverter specs are quite high. While it could replace a small genset on a site, I bet with 2 batteries it will cost an order of magnitude more than said generator.
Still, nice product, they'll sell them no dramas. Will be interesting to see what they end up costing here in Aus if/when they make it. Based on a 5Ah Milwaukee battery costing around $130 here, I would expect each of the batteries in this thing to be about $2K each - plus the inverter.
Will see.
As they aren't actually released yet it's a little hard to tell, but one store in the US is taking pre-orders on the smaller of the MX at around $350. That's $100 more than their price for the M18 12 amp hour, so not really that bad. I can't seem to find a price for the bigger MX.
FYI, the 12 amp hour jobbie is $230 here at the red tool shop, so it's actually cheaper here than there, which is weird.
I'll let you know how much they are once they come in , i happen to handle Milwaukee at work.
