    Which is Better?

Am thinking about updating my camper, the short list is Ultimate Gold or Oddessy Export signature, anyone had any experience with them to help me make a decision?

This sub-forum seems a bit quiet!

I had a goo look t the campers atthe Sydny show and hav narrowed to the Ultimate and the Kimberly. Iam leaning more to the Kimberley and had a brief look at the Odysey but do notlike the way they sre setup it seemed a btclunky in the demo I saw.

Sorry i do not hav any xperience ith either to offer. I plan to cha sortly with sveral ownrs to see hy hey choe what they hav chosen to get ete understanding before making the investment. It is an invstment right.

    maybe neither

My experience is that you very quickly tire of a camper that takes more than five minutes to set up. Particularly if traveling long distance and camping every night.
Don't know if the two you mention come into that category

I agree a small off road van is a better option. And the cost difference between them and some of the up spec hard floors is not that great when you concider what you are getting. You will lose some off road abilty but in my opinion a small price for the extra comfort and easy set up.

I agree with Graz and Dungie both said, the best thing we ever did was buy an off road 18' pop top caravan and park our off road soft floor camper. The ludicrous thing is many of the smaller off road caravans new are cheapr to buy then many of the more expensive campers we considered.

We use the caravan all the time in the bush, no it won't go where our off road camper will but it does go most places we want to go and it provides a level of comfort and ease of set up that puts a massive smile on our faces everytime we use it.

    cheers,
    Terry

Try a tent, and that will cure you of any time issues. Almost any camper is going to be better. Think a bit about what are the most important features for you. Is having a bed ready in 3 minutes flat from the time you have pulled over critical, or having more room once you are set up ? How do you feel about setting up your chosen camper in the rain ? Where are you most likely to take it ? As others have suggested, maybe a camper is not the best compromise.

We have owned our Ultimate for nearly three years now and can't say a bad thing about it.
It's level of build quality and comfort are amazing and it will go anywhere you can tow it. It can be set up in 10 minutes from pulling up to cracking the first can and offers huge storage space, an internal kitchen for when the weather is lousy, a kingsize bed and it packs up small so when you're towing, you don't know it's there.
It is an investment, but they hold their value extremely well, in fact, a good second-hand one is hard to find.
    Hope this helps.

I'd suggest considering the Conqueror range as well...

Either of the top 2 units ...

IME I'd suggest they are better than the 2 options you quoted...

(Have experienced Ultimate etc... with friends owning them)

Impressive, but IMO the Conqueror product offers more value and better performance/features...
