They say if it gets wet, one wouldn't be able to get out there,, you have to drive over a swamp type area. We have a two riser on our van, so it has a touch more clearance than a standard road going van, which gets us into places just like this. And of course, pictured is Chris (rangieman) the original pyromaniac, getting the fire going.
Really proud of Leeanne, she towed the van over 1500 Klms with no real issues whilst I drove the Series.

Fabricated a small aluminum camper trailer pop-up with 3500lb axle. Will be matching the wheels to the rover camper. Dry fitting a subrella top to it just now, not having made anything like that before it's a bit of a learning experience, but once completed we should be able to travel with kids, dogs, kayaks, bikes and with both pop-ups, setup camp in minutes. Next will be the wiring, umbilical and solar panel.

Finally mounted the 270 awning, a few other items and took it out for the week. Have some learnings to apply now before next trip to adjust but all in all it did well.

Tried out the new to me TVan 2007 model Tanami last weekend at Straddy. Its in pretty good nic, but needs a little work (which I knew when I bought it). But SWMBO gave some positive comments on bed comfort which is a good start. I haven’t tried the bed yet, as relegated to the boys section on the floor.

It’s a nice bit of kit. But I’m glad I didn’t pay new price for one. $70k would be too big an opportunity cost for me.

Hopefully will add a car awning this weekend.

    The trip over on ferry.

    Set up at Straddy.

Absolutely spectacular. You should post up some piccies on the classic caravan forum. I can see hundreds of hours of labour there in what most poeple will see as a shiny coat of paint!

An old 70s camper i got recently and have just started working on. I am able to fit all 6 of the family in there comfortably.

    20180405_152328.jpg

It now has a 12 volt battery onboard which charges from andersson and also from 240.
Put a gas bottle up front but not piped yet, a lot of other work needed first. We do use it to cook though.
Has cb, stereo and lighting inside.
So many plans i dont know where to start.
Here is the inside of it. Early stages of rebirth but we use it while we fix it. We love to camp.

Thats one side, as you can see 4 beds there, 2 doubles together. Dog hiding at the back there and daughter up front. She loves camping as do all of us.

And thats the "parents side" nice and private sort of haha. But you get the idea. A project and a bit of fun.

    Time for another new camper

Well I found what I was looking for. As New Exodus Barrington. All of 760kg of serious off road hybrid camper.

I have been watching it from before Christmas and when the price dropped I rang them and did a great deal.
