I had matching rims on the van to suit my Puma and no flat tyres. The Puma is sold and the van is now pulled by a Ranger (17"), I'll see if Murphy plays a role in the future.

Have had a rim crack but no flat tyres. I guess that is almost pretty much the same thing anyway as I changed the wheel incase it fell apart on the drive home, so I needed a spare.
Cheers,

I run 2 spares on the Defender and 1 on the Trak Shak - they are all interchangeable. Also carry repair gear and tools with us when travelling.
When I replace the 6 tyres on the Defender, I use the best 3 for the Trak Shak - means I'm constantly rotating the 9 tyres rather than buying dedicated tyres for a trailer.
