Ordering a new KK ... options advice please.

So we're going to buy a new KK. Classic + Options ...

We're only going to do this once. Mr & Mrs late 40's early 50's. We intend to use this till we're both boxed and underground ... so, looking at the options, we've decided on a possible list but would like some opinions from other KK owners (or others) on wether they are worthwhile or not. We will be camping anywhere and everywhere ... more touring than extended stays.

Feel free to yay or nay, and maybe offer a brief explanation why.

We're looking at adding to the base Classic (which comes standard with diesel hot water) .... and the new 2015 model has a 15% drawbar weight reduction. We don't go overboard when packing but since this is a long term purchase some additions for as we get older should probably be added now. Happy wife happy life!

    Tropical Roof
    Drawer Bar Extension
Deluxe Kwik Awning upgrade (adds zips to add walls later if needed)
Hot water Visiflow upgrade (pump from external to the campers tank/s)
    Anderson Plug 50Amp
    Solar Anderson Plug
    Dual Kitchen slide / Wok/ 2 burner w/grill upgrade
Extra 4kg Gas Bottle + Hose
    LED Reading Lights 2x
Diesel Space Heater Upgrade (works w/hot water system)
    Inner Spring Matress

    ... and maybe

Slide out kitchen integrated slide out table
30 LED lighting front/side delta - dining bench - under bed
    Underbed slide out storage drawer
    Swinga-away knuckle mount set
70L 2nd water tank (incl' Mariner HD springs upgrade)
All weather window awning (drivers side)

I'm pretty handy with electrics so things like the solar plug and extra lighting I can tackle myself.

Thanks in advance for everyones thoughts !!

    Cheers
    Kev..

    Thanks mate !

Deal's done and there's a new KK coming our way soon enough.

Next items on the agenda ... install the brake controller (got me a Tow-Pro) and rear anderson ... and extra transmission cooler to follow after I recover from the sticker shock !!

So come on Kev, how about telling us what spec you ended up ordering. Even the standard KK sounds like a good thing.
    Cheers,

    KK

    Hi Kev

Are you purchasing the Kimberly Karavan or the Kimberly Kruzer?

Recommend you join the KK owners group at KKOG forum home
You just need to quote yours KK's serial number and pay a small annual membership fee.
If you are getting the Karavan it has had a lot of design problems that have led to issues over the years.
These have been corrected by various mods that are detailed on the site.
There is a wealth of knowledge and experiences on the site as well.
I've got a 2010 build Karavan that I am very happy with and it tows very well. Hardly know its behind the 130.
    Enjoy

    Hey Terry !

Classic 2015 (incl' diesel hot water & shower)
    Tropical Roof
    Drawer Bar Extension
    Deluxe Kwik Awning upgrade
Hot water Visiflow upgrade (pump from external sources)
    Anderson Plug 50Amp
Dual Pantry Kitchen slide / Wok/ 2 burner w/grill upgrade
Extra 4kg Gas Bottle + Hose
    LED Reading Lights 2x
Diesel Space Heater Upgrade (w/hot water system)
Slide out kitchen integrated s/s slide out table
30 LED - under bed (Delta box & dining bench lights included)
    Side Storage Pak - Rear | KAG565
70L 2nd water tank (190L in total - incl' Mariner HD springs upgrade)

Apparently all the Classics are being delivered with rear Swinga-way mount, boat loader mounts, and Delta-box lighting included even though they are priced options ... can't complain about that !

    Thanks for asking !

Hi Graham .... neither. Just the lowly Kimberley Kamper (Classic with options as above)

That was a budget stretch I can tell you .... The Karavan & Kruzer are way out of our price range, but we looked them over and they are really impressive ... hell, what we paid for the Kamper is about $8k less than we paid for our house !!! (but that was 27yrs ago )
The most money we've ever spent on anything other than our home.

We're expecting to own it until ... well, forever !

    Cheers

    KK

    Kev
The K Kamper is one of the best camper trailers on the market and it looks like you have it well optioned up. We looked at the Kamper as it sets up quickly however after our experiences with the Trak Shak we wanted a compact unit suitable for towing along bush tracks or worse without the canvas, hence the Karavan.
