Pedro, ask the repair to use Sikaflex marine 291.
Is excellent for fitting deck hatches and porthole on ocean going yachts will be good for the van.
Also when they do the roof get a tin of Thermoshield Insulation Coating System.
I used it on my motorhome and also in the roof of shipping containers in my farm.
It not only insulate but also form a membrane wich will stop water getting in of the joins.
