I have Commodore front hubs/discs on my car trailer but mine runs conventional tapered bearings.
I can't remember exactly what model Commodore they came off but I thought it was a VN.
I didn't think VNs had a hub assy like the D2 though.
Gday All,
Has anyone used VN commodore or similar model commodore front hubs on their trailer/caravan. I see they are 5 x 120 PCD and have the hubs and bearings as 1 unit.
Cheers Ean

VE hubs match a D2 PCD and have the 14mm studsA spacer ring will be needed for the hub.Im not up to speed on the D3/D4 equivelent yet.
Have seen HSV wheels on a D2,looked ok too.

Hi, vn/p commodore use normal type taper roller bearings. Vr/s and up use an intergrated bearing and hub assy. You can change ur old style holden trailer or caravan wheels 13" or 14" and hubs over to early commodore type by using commodore hubs and rims. Or if u needed wider track u can bolt on hq and up rims. Early 13 and 14 Inch rims are getting very hard to get now. Just make sure to use the right seals. Ive done this conversion heaps of times. It dosent matter if the discs are undersize coz ur not using the discs, just the hubs. Hope this helps.

You shouldn't use HQ-WB wheels on Commodore hubs (or vice versa), they are a different stud pattern.

Yes they are. the difference is about 1 mm in the PCD but they still fit ok

Yes the early commodores were still 4 3/4" PCD, same as the HQ, which is 120.65mm where as the later commodores(not sure when they changed) are 120mm PCD.
If I was going to electric brakes there are two options, buy the commodore 10" braked hubs and punch the 7/16 studs out and drill them to fit M14 studs, this is what I did when I went to Disc brakes on my camper, trouble with this is, if you stuff a hub, you can't replace it, for me I had to buy a standard non braked hub and wheel nuts to replace the stuffed hub, so we could carry on and get home, I tried everywhere to buy a disc brake hub, but it's not something trailer places stock, it's an order in item, I actually still carry this non braked hub as a spare, so when I got home, I ordered the new drum brake hubs from Melbourne trailers.
I'm pretty sure Melbourne Trailers will supply 10" brake hubs in 120 PCD with M14 studs, if they do 9 1/4 in 120 PCD and M14 studs as they did for me, can't see why not.
Baz.

trailer parts we use recommend HT holden bolt pattern or ford pattern.
ford use 1/2 thread.
purchased set of 13 X 5 gal multi pattern wheels last week for $45 each.
these had a lot of offset.
the old trailers we have from mid 1990's use VB-VK rims. the studs are weak and the rims are offset [inward] lots. to replace hubs with recent parts we have to alter the axle length.
My car trailer fitted with 9 inch drum with ford studs. they used hilux and magna rims. I have 18 inch AU falcon rims that fit with the same track.
