    Skateboard bearing runners

    Hi Guys.
Been googling DIY drawers using skateboard bearings.Into the future I wish to make a large drawer to go alongside the kitchen slide(2m long????).I may DIY both into 1 large drawer yet,as the kitchens are expensive.Probably looking at using aluminium and marine ply.
Some fit the bearings to the drawers, others to the frames. Not many pics available.
    Anybody here done there own????
Would love pics for ideas or links to websites you have seen them on.Quite a few of the camping websites require you to join to look at pics.
    Thanks
    Andrew

Go to tea transmissions.net.au I've used em plenty good people. Click on bearings. Rather than buying skate bearings buy cam followers means you don't also have to make bearing pins or bolts.

I would suggest cam followers attached to frames and draw slides made from angle channel or box even

Steve,I did see them on fleabay, looked quite useable(if a tad dear).Problem is over 2 drawers 2m long(1 kitchen,1 storage)side by side its alot of bearings.Sort of had in mind for the centre support axle bolts to have a bearing each end.
I liked the look of them, design is wizzing around between my ears at the moment, havent got to scribling on paper yet.Thinking of a stainless lid for the storage drawer,it then could be used as bench space behind the kitchen unit whilst preparing a feast

I think you might find the shaft on them too long, especially if you are going to use a centre divider and two drawers.

I built my drawers in my troopy 15 years ago using skate board bearings on the supports and rectangle box on the side of the drawers. They are just under 2m long and with the drawer full of tools, spares and other heavy stuff I could lift my self off the ground and bounce on the end of it even when I was 135kg.

The drawers were folded out of 2m gal sheet and I put carpet inside. The top is made out of mdf and carpeted.

What are they going in to?

How wide is the area you are going to use?
