Found it. Some chargers/cables/ungrounded sockets can mess up the capacitive sensing..

    fun fun fun

turned the 240v on to the van at the meter box this afternoon and before I can start walking back up to the van I hear a wosh and the power drops out...

    dam!

on closer inspection the 240v going to the bottom of the fridge is hot and smelling lovely..

turn the 240v off at the switch and pull the plug to the fridge and no noises or smells when I switch the power back on..

i'm not having a flash run...

    Electrolux RM-2310

is burnt out down the bottom left hand rear corner some where.

    not a happy chappy!

well today was lets repair the RM2310 Electrolux fridge in towtent day..

purchased a new selector switch from Caravans Plus and it arrived in good time at a reasonable price.

took a fair bit of mucking around to get the fridge in a spot where I could work on it but it worked out well in the end.

put a meter on most things and found that it was only the switch itself that was damaged, yeehaa

took about three hours overall to replace the switch and get the fridge back into it's proper position.

flick of the switch and it was making heat.

    phew!

am off to read where they put the fans behind these things to make them work better.

A mate is doing a bus up.
Tells me they work much better with a top and bottom vent.He has fitted computer fans on the top vents to blow the hot air out.He also sealed around the fridge so the air is drawn thru the lower vent onto the back of the fridge.

Inc, have a look at this. The bloke shows that with proper ventilation and baffling, you don't need fans and you get good performance.

    The tent on wheels

well i finally got to tow the van with the 130 today

getting the towbar setup sorted for the 130 has been a bit of a saga and just when i go to hook the van up i pull on the handbrake handle on the van and it comes away in my hand The tent on wheels

so, off to probar to buy a new 3500kg hitch

bolted up just fine thankfully and even the handbrake setup didn't need any adjusting

so got to take the thing for a 30 minute spin around a few local haunts and a bit up the highway

tows pretty dam good it has to be said.
