Kimberley Karavans - Offroad Wheels and Tyres Advice
A major disappointment for Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover owners is to learn of the ?impossibility? to match the vehicle's wheels and tyres with that of a caravan or camper trailer.
The reason for the ?impossibility? was two fold:Several manufacturers of hubs pronounced that it was 'too hard? and 'too expensive? to create a new casting to overcome these two major obstacles.
- The diameter of the studs required to match these vehicles is too tight to fit around a 2 tonne bearing, and
- The centre bore of the wheel was also too small a diameter to fit over the outer housing of the wheel bearing.
So we started at first principles at Kimberley and engaged a hub design specialist, then a casting specialist and finally advice from a metallurgist to create a hub that will accept interchangeable wheels and tyres with the current Land Rover Discovery series and Range Rover Series.
We are now re-writing the book on ?Interchangeable Wheels and Tyres?.
Naturally, how we have done this is proprietary and copyright and wont be published here.

First up sorry I didn't get pictures. A guy just come in with Kimberley Kamper Disco hubs.
They are ford bearings with 7/8 Solid disc brake made by TRIGG in Adelaide here. By their catalogue the 7/8 solid disc hubs are no longer made. Bearing nose looked nice and slim for the wheels to fit.
Guy was looking to convert to Patrol wheels.
so he needs tojo stud pattern ... like on my Kimberley ... id be interested, so put him on to me and maybe we can do a deal....
