Hi,
just to add that we have had a few slide on campers over the last few years and none had any plate re weight--just an approximate estimate from the manufacturer. One we bought turned out to be far heavier than we envisaged--again the manufacturers should be required to add such a plate.
My RRC is over with its accessories on it and 4 people in the car. They never gave it a higher rating than the 2 door but it weighs 250Kg more, so it's screwed before you put the tent in the back. :D
The 101 is better - got a whole 1,000Kg to play with - actually a bit less, it weighs around 80Kg more than its tare weight, but I've never been close - had under 200Kg plus me, SWMBO and the Pugs when at Melrose last time. With all the camping gear in it, only around 400Kg plus us. :). Even towing, it's got a 2,000Kg rating, the van weighs 1200 with a towball weight of 110.
As for my van and the vehicles I tow it with - I know all my weights, and limits and travel within them. I've had multiple combinations over the weigh bridge almost every time I go away for more than a weekend. The first time was an eye opener and I was 100Kg over, that was with full water tank, 2 x 9Kg gas bottles, spare and everything for 3 weeks on the road. The tow vehicle (The 101) was well under, so nearly 120Kg went in the back of that. I've since removed 60Kg of weight during the remodel, only run 1 gas bottle and put the spare in the tow vehicle and I've always been under.
I, like Weeds am one of the 25,000.

.....One person calculated what his payload could be by loading his van to ATM, then adding on what he measured his ball weight as becayse that came off the ATM when hitched. So ATM 3500, load to 3850 because the 350kg was going on the tow ball and viola, back down to rated ATM. That was another long chat....
3,240 - 2,558 = 682kg
+ 25 - 60 (bar to Bullbar) = 647kg
Average male weight 85.9kg in Aus..
10.9+(3x85.9) -> 268.6kg = 378.4kg to play with [emoji41] that's a fair bit of luggage!
For a long trip a trailer is essential... or dehydrated food [emoji6]
Defender 110 looks good (except 10l fuel and no driver):
3,050-1,972= 1,078kg
Bar to Bullbar -60kg
4@85.9kg -> -343.6kg
Diesel 65@0.849kg -> -55.2kg
Leaves a nicer 619.2kg to play with for luggage.
