just to add that we have had a few slide on campers over the last few years and none had any plate re weight--just an approximate estimate from the manufacturer. One we bought turned out to be far heavier than we envisaged--again the manufacturers should be required to add such a plate.
My RRC is over with its accessories on it and 4 people in the car. They never gave it a higher rating than the 2 door but it weighs 250Kg more, so it's screwed before you put the tent in the back. :DQuote:

As for my van and the vehicles I tow it with - I know all my weights, and limits and travel within them. I've had multiple combinations over the weigh bridge almost every time I go away for more than a weekend. The first time was an eye opener and I was 100Kg over, that was with full water tank, 2 x 9Kg gas bottles, spare and everything for 3 weeks on the road. The tow vehicle (The 101) was well under, so nearly 120Kg went in the back of that. I've since removed 60Kg of weight during the remodel, only run 1 gas bottle and put the spare in the tow vehicle and I've always been under.
