A few more things moving forward, mounted the junction box to trailer and wired forward to tow ball and break away switch, made the ramp braces and made them adjustable too, more bracing added under the deck.

    It has been awhile

Yes it has been awhile as been busy with other things like changing over cars and trailers to NSW rego ( been working down here for 3 years ) plus doing tax stuff that soaks up a weekend and more.

have now added the bracing and floor mounts will pull them up and finish welding then send them off to get Galvenised pretty much all that is left is mudguard mounts and finish off some wiring.

will weigh the tow ball weight before I remove everything but thinking if I worked it out right should be in the 70 to 80 kg range am hoping it should come in the 800 to 900kg range when empty.

If you a going for a weighbridge certificate, it is going to weigh a heap more after it is galvanised. ?. Many years ago a mate built his own 8*5 box trailer and had it galvanised before taking it for a weight certificate. He wound up putting brakes on it as it was to heavy empty to carry a usable payload and still keep it under 750 Kg GVM (no brakes required).

Only going to get the decking Galvenised, general rule of thumb is add 10% to pre galv weight, only things getting galved are the ramps, decking which is 3mm but with it being a punched deck allow for the weight loss of the holes.

saved weight by using a Toyota spare wheel winch, alloy guards, alloy tool box, the winch carrier and winch are both removable etc.

would be good to weigh it before hand, I have been using bathroom scales to check the tow ball weight, maybe could buy another 4

    Bit more done.

Back on wheels for final checks, mount mudguards and finish off some wiring. Pic showing tow ball weight empty.

not to much more just small stuff left like finishing hand brake cable mounting lights on mudguard and connecting a position light under trailer which will come on after a about 5 seconds going into reverse should help see where wheels are at night.

Have turned the decking over and welding the bracing on, hope to drop it off on Tuesday to get galved then make up mudguard mounts, finish off wiring, fully weld the suspension into place and off to get it checked over, I will get it painted after that is done so if any thing needs changing not stuffing up a paint job.

Then strip everything off to make it easier to paint.

Weather has not helped but finished welding brackets and the top rail tie down points, picked up the decking and winch post from galvanisers hope to mount mudguards tomorrow weather allowing.

Finish off last of the wiring, then paint it and get rego, pressure is on as need room in carport for new car.
