Here are some more pics showing lights and where cable enters chassis will be putting in a junction box at a later date also going to put two spot lights facing the rear to be used as position lights when reversing should show wheels might be handy at night.

tie down points six all up plus the pooch decking for tie down loads to deck and finishing off brake wiring for front and rear brakes the little wire is for side light on mudguard.

Any one know a good painter as I cannot paint it at my place but that will be next year also will have a winch but this will be a clip on set up so if not needed it stays off, will get proper handbrake cables made with an outer sleeve and with adjustments have all the imfo just get the final measurements and send off details.

draw bar is 150x50x4mm RHS with bracing plate below tow coupling and cross member which is 100x50x3mm, the rear stands can be removed again this will remove some weight have alloy guards to fit.

Once it is together will find the centre of gravity or pivot point and mark this on chassis, sort out the break away with a remote battery monitor which is needed for NSW one that turns on brake lights as well which is something my boat trailer does not do.
Now THAT is what I call a trailer .... Having a look at how thin the metal is on most trailers (and caravans) these days. This look big and strong .... but will have 1.5mm wall thickness.

Getting drawbar lined up will finish double checking this tomorrow morning before tacking everything in place then rechecking again then I can adjust the tow in on the suspension in relation to the chassis and centre line

Yes it does but it is the way I took the photo plus maybe my thumb in the second throws the whole perspective out.

    Draw bar on

We'll have now fixed draw bar to chassis, I had to add 8mm spacers because of the uneven angle used to mount the simplicity suspension but I think this works out OK with the welding side of things

A bit more progress on trailer had a hangover so this slowed things down some what, have welded on some tap pads to mount the winch post this also allows it to be removed when not needed.

Have fitted a locating dowel on front mount plate this makes it really easy to fit the post and get the bolts in. Also have received the handbrake cable and have run it along chassis final mounting to be sorted out later.

Mounted the spare wheel carrier cannot fix the other end just yet as suspension is tacked in waiting for decking to go on so I can adjust axle position if needed to get tow ball weight correct.

Ok some more progress, have fitted wear strips made out of nylon a lot lighter than using steel held in by counter sunk screws, a rear toolbox for tie downs and small bottle jack, have fitted the top deck plates will start welding in braces and mounting points underneath then remove it all to get galvanised.

before I sat the top plates on had a tow ball weight of 85kgs once rear ramp hold bracket goes on will do a final test before fully welding axle in place trying to aim for 10% with empty trailer.

Quick update have started to weld in bracing under floor this will be bolt in so when done will remove and get it galved along with winch mount and ramp braces, once this is done will get the final position for suspension.

have started to wire in the battery break away and monitor (from Traxide) also fitting a position light and two orange hazard flasher lights at rear these will come on after 5 seconds, the position light should allow you to see where the trailer wheels are when reversing at night.

been crook with flu so thought it best not to lie on cold concrete floor for a bit plus work gets in the way, should be done July then get it registered, once that is done will pull everything off and get it painted.
