I went through this recently when I took three trailerloads of crap to the tip before moving house. I gave them a deadline to get their stuff. No-one came, so it all went to the tip. No complaints received since. Be ruthless! They've probably forgotten what they left behind.

Two pallets off the trailer and one to go. The photograph shows the view to the shed. The trailer reversed into the shed. The 3 tonne mobile crane with a pallet hanging off it. To the right-hand side outside of the shed and currently on ramps, is the future tow vehicle. Yes I do own a Land Rover - or two - or ... The ones this side of the shed fence are goers and keepers - the ones the other side of the fence - out in the "paddock", are mostly parts vehicles.
Anyway ... back to the shed... I need more room to be able to work on the gearbox and get it fitted back into the vehicle. Also the recent need to have some space to cut lengths of timber down for floor joists, verandah post and timber frame for two walls ... all part of unplanned for house renovations ... triggered the tipping point
... "I cannot stand having to search through piles of crap every time I want to find anything... I'm as mad as hell and I am not taking this anymore...."
Hence the recent purchase and transportation of industrial shelving and the racks.
Why the new trailer? My old trailer is fitted with a ute crane and it is just too small for transporting stuff like .... industrial shelving and racking.
I live in regional Queensland and the second-hand industrial racking suppliers are located in Brisbane. Just about two years ago I got a quotation for industrial racking and shelving. Yes, the lack of storage and ordered shed space has been an ongoing issue .... However, while the company supplied the materials, they did not freight the product outside of Brisbane. Nor, would they supply the final dimensions and weight of the material until it had been paid for. Catch-22 transport companies who deliver to Bundaberg want the exact dimensions and weight before they will provide an estimate of the transport costs. Freight could wind up costing more than the goods transported - ouch!
The other thing that I have noticed a number of companies that I have approached to supply materials are now including this legal notice in their quotations and email communications...
Material Handling Due to WH&S and the chain of responsibility all materials are required to be packed and strapped for both loading and transportation purposes
Loading Equipment
It is vitally important to achieving the above that the correct type of vehicle is therefore used for picking up orders. Any vehicle that is unsuitable (Pantech or Trailers with wheel arches) that cannot be loaded by our forklift will be unable to be loaded.
So the idea of buying the racking and shelves stayed on hold .... until ... introduce the latest tipping point - "I'm as mad as hell and I am sick of trying to find stuff among a pile of crap and not having a safe area to work in" ... dummy spit!
I rang up one of the companies about their loading policy and what they described was as an acceptable trailer was a flat bed or flat top trailer.
For the past two years I have had my eye out locally looking for an old tray-back from a medium rigid truck. The tray would make a great base for mounting onto a chassis and draw-bar to make a flat-top trailer. None came up.
Last night as I was hauling my shiny new flat-top trailer through a country town, guess what I saw on the side of the road? An over-turned aluminum tray from a MR truck complete with a "For Sale" sign on it. "Bugger" ... I said. My timing is not that great sometimes. Still not sure why the tray was upside down. I suppose it was easier to see that the floor was in good condition.
Well tomorrow will involve getting the last pallet of racking off the trailer and my starting the assembly of some shelves. It came with lots of clips but no assembly instructions - should be fun.
I will also have the trailer unloaded for next week's trip interstate to pick up some goodies.

This is the Jeep advertisement I referred to in my first post in this thread. Instead of the current order in the sequence in the advertisement I looked at my new trailer first (instead of the boat) then I looked at my Commodore. I think you can work it out from there [smilebigeye]
