... we have now move it onto the Stockman POD Trailer and think that it will work out better for us. Firstly we installed the heavy duty gas struts that Stockman provide as part of the Roof Top tent mounting package...this enables you to still open up the trailer with the added weight of the tent on top.
We have added a basic awning to the side of the tent that we will use as a cover to go over any camping gear we leave out overnight (chairs, tables etc).
To the D4 Rhino Backbone rails that we previously were supporting the Roof Top tent on, we have added a full length (narrower 1236mm wide) Pioneer Platform.. see earlier posts on this.
Getting a local engineering firm to make us some stronger and longer brackets for the awning mount on the D4, as the current Rhino brackets tend to flex a bit. Will add photos once I have them installed.
