Very nice rig mate, congratulations on a very well done job :clap2::clap2:
I think this is a great project. Is that an AL-KO rubber suspension axle you have fitted there. If so how well has that worked for you v's say a regular double eye spring set up ?
Can I ask what you thought a fair price for a tub was.
Well done with all the pics posted. Very inspiring.
David
ide never run leaf springs on anything but a box trailer... im just not that type of person. the AL KO IRS is brilliant, loaded or unloaded it dosent skip and bounce like leafs would, and it just sits on the road bloody brilliantly.
i strongly recomend anyone wanting to build a decent off roader to seriously consider this type of axle.
tub price vairy... i paid 500 other have paid 200 some 800:eek: i wouldnt pay above 500 but thats me.

i have been looking for a decent RTT for the trailer for a while now. while i like the howling moon types i thought they could be a bit bigger. along came the 4x4 and camping show:D....
i looked at them all, then found a company tucked up the back called aussie traveller.
they had a gynormas RTT on top of a nissan LWB troll. i liked it alot.
its made out of alloy and ply, has YKK zips and is 13oz canvas. it weighs in at 65kg.
ive had it custom made to suit the height i want, 1700mm to the bed base.
dummy fit pic's.

i have a few more additions to install, full length under bed storage, a pull out shelf here and there, gotta get a custom water tank made, then its on to a solar/battery system.
but for now it works:cool:
