Just read the whole thread Phil, fantastic bit of 'hands on' work there. Not sure what you do as a career, but as was mentioned earlier, your skills in this area could be used to manufacture LR trailers :D
Very nice rig, thanks for posting and sharing. Given me some ideas too.
Regards

im a fitter/machinist/fabricator/whatever else the boss wants me to be;)

Don't forget a rear window guard Phil, especially as you don't have a stone guard on the trailer, fit cardboard cut to the shape of the rear window for this trip if you don't get a perspex one made.
I have one cut already if you want to use it.

I used two 120 Supercharge Gold Allrounders,,
put them in around two years ago for a tad over $400.
-
this 120 battery is probably abit larger than a supercharge 120.
mines a truck battery N120...its heavy and is over 500mm long:eek:
thank you to whoever turfed it in the bin :D:D
free, my favorite price.
cheers phil

Awesome trailer, I came across this thread a while ago, one of the reasons I signed up to aulro :p
I have just taken hold of a Sankey sized trailer (new though, not actually a Sankey but a modern copy) and am currently doing the stonechip protection etc. Like the finish under yours. Can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so I can get on with it (the paint doesn't like the cold)
Anyway, just wanted to say great job and I'll keep following the thread

Phil, I never even knew about this kewel project of yours mate - you are "the quiet achiever" ;) Lovely work.....
I picked up Ross's ("afpdisc") old 109 on trailer conversion which he'd been using as a simple in-cab camper - for a price which worked for all :whistling: By the time I'm finished though, that will be the cheapest bit !
Working with Mulgo over the next few months to cut the roof along the long axis of the trailer and do a Dormobile style flip over tent, except that the roof will flip a full 180 degrees and come all the way over to create an awning area under which to pull out the DRIFTA kitchen etc.
Obviously will need to raise the body first. This will mean we have sleeping downstairs for the wife and I, and upstairs in the 'tent' area for the 4 x tin lids (sorry, been listening to KRudd too much there - fair suck of the sauce bottle :wasntme:). Was going to go RTT, but Dan reckons he will get it bigger space wise with custom conversion. Yes it will be a bit of a mobile hotel with the large family - should be fun though.
Here are photos of as-is state. Will start a new thread when we get the project underway. Gav
