Looking good mate, looks like a strong trailer.
Good idea not mounting the panels permanently, transporting them for the journey and setting them up when you get to the camp site is a much better idea.

Thanks Baz.
Its been doing my head in working out how to do it,belive I have won:cool::cool::cool::cool:
My biggest trouble is I can only work on the trailer when Im really feeling "artistic" Cant just go to the shed and build, just doesnt work for me.Really need to finish this project and use it.
Andrew
Its been some time,a long time in fact. This project is back on track.
I wasnt happy with the lifting bed base,so re-made it.Problem was my self taught welding skills enabled me to put a 25mm bow in it.This delayed my interest even further.
Enter old Mal,a retired boilermaker and greek nutcase.I have helped him out a fair bit in the past,he wanted to get me finishing the trailer.
A few pics.
First up Mal set about straightening the bed,he got it within 1mm.

Worked a treat.

Next we got rid of the solar panel rack that was made from the scraped dinghy rack and very ugly.
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...014/07/438.jpg
A new rack was made.I have 2x200w solar panels to go on top. They will be on a seperate aluminium rack, and will slide forward to clear the tent, slide partly over tent for transport. The stainless steel marine bimini fittings turned up today, using these expensive little buggers will allow each side of the solar panel to be lifted toward the sun,or tilted toward the front of the trailer to catch the sun.The panels will also be removable if need be in a shady camp.
Under the rack there will be 5 150mm stormwater storage tubes,2 for water 3 for long items like fishing rods. There is also provision for jerycan storage below these tubes.

I have a few more small welding jobs to do then a re-paint before fitting out.
Mal is a pain in the arse, but has been behind getting my act together, works out good for him too,he was bored and lonely. We share a beer, and quite a few arguments, but alls good at the end on the day.In return he has his 2a Ambo here for repairs and he works on his hilux too,the shed has all the tools he could want for.

Onwards and upwards my Ginger Friend :wasntme:
Been busy in the shed, got the paint finished on the top half of the trailer today:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:,not to worried about the lower parts as there are still a few mods to be done.
I can now start fitting it out.First job is to put the camper top on,I will then have enough space in the shed to store the new D4 in there;);););)

Funny how a new toy for the shed gets one motivated Andy :D
Great looking setup...... Do you need to change to D4 rims now
:wasntme:
Trailer carries 2 spares, will get an extra D4 rim to replace a D2 spare.
You probably got the new toy bit around the wrong way.Perhaps the camper trailer coming to completion brought on the D4;););););)
Bring on Long Service Leave:cool::cool::cool::cool:
Andrew
Wow, 4 yrs, since I commented, I was thinking this will be a heavy trailer and that the D2 would struggle a bit towing it, but not anymore;)
I donno what you have decided in regards to a mattress, but I would highly recommend you get an innerspring mattress, we have one in our campper, best thing we ever did.
