Where to get accurate feedback on Caravans

Hi Guys/Gals, I am just starting my research now but intend to buy an off road caravan in the next 12 months in preparation to start doing some bigger trips (Far Far North etc) in 2 years or so. Was very keen on these kimberley Karavans but am bit worried now after seeing some scattered negative feedback. Can someone recomend something and or a site where i can get good accurate feedback on all types of off road Caravans and possibly campers. I need something TUFF as can be hard on my gear form time to time and am very adventurous, and need something comfortable for the missus and something big as will have 4 kids with us also. I suppose am looking for the best of both worlds as am intending to do the sealed rd trips and also some wild off road adventures also. Am wanting to be completeyl self sufficient but comfortable. Not too worried about cost as want something to last, be fault free, and still worth something at the end. Any ideas very welcome.
    Cheers.

There are a few caravan forums around. fourm.candm.com will give you info but IMHO you need to think about what you say as the way some people act there you would be banned for life on other sites. It does have good info all the same. You don't need to join either to search.

My wife and I have just done the same thing you are about to do. More than willing to share info if wish as it takes a long time to research.

We did all this research and at the final hour even with deposit made we bought second hand as we found nearly exactly what we liked at the right price. you will have a lot of work ahead looking at them all. There are almost too many on the market these days. Happy searching!!!

Not really answering your question but these are very good.

    Trakmaster Custom Built Off-Road Caravans

My old man swears by them - he is on to his second. Not cheap, but very well built and never given him any major worries in many years of outback work.

Hi, with 4 kids (ages ?) I would suspect that you are getting into fairly large sized vans, and I'm wondering if it is worth the effort of dragging all that weight around with you.
Check out some of the Gall Boys videos to see if that is the sort of thing you want to do, then look at the layouts of the vans. even their biggest ones don't seem to have 6 beds.
You may get more 'bang for your buck' with a camper trailer as far as space for the kids and the places you can get with it.
Yep they are canvas, and take time to put up and down, (but your travel will be more nimble, especially the rougher the road/track you venture along) but don't eliminate them from your consideration with out testing your wants and wishes against what they can do for you.
    Cheers

We allready have one of the Gall Boys caravans (Kedron) and the Spinifex is a lighter van, I have taken our van off road and it can be a challange with the extra weight
