    Fridges

There are two very robust ones made in Queensland ..The Evacool and the Trailblazer. I have the Evacool, been going strong for 6 years with not a problem.
The Trailblazer was all the go a few years back and is reputed to be very good too.

Ive had a CF50 for 4 1/2 years and has never missed a beat. I used to run it off a solar panel in a cabin we had in country, in the back of the car, and now we run it off the camper battery set up. Has been a really good thing.

I used to have engels years ago in my trucks and they would cop a beating and were always reliable.

I bought a Bushman 10 eight years ago and it has only given be one problem. This year a fault code appeared on the LED screen, I rang the number on the warranty sheet to be told it was a temp sender located in the fridge. I was given verbal instructions as to how to fit a new one, the new one was posted to me overnight whereupon I fitted it as per instructions. Unit has worked faultlessly ever since. The best part about the whole deal was even though I offered to pay by credit card over the phone Bushman refused to charge me (even for the postage) as it was a problem that they were aware of and therefore was not my concern even after eight years. The fridge has been a reliable, good, rugged unit and the after sales service has been second to none. Cannot recomend them enough!!

    Hi Shamo
I got the genuine Engel slide that slides the engel out width wise.Made a frame that includes a modified D1 cargo barrier, optima battery and frame around the engel so gear can be stored ontop.Everything is bolted into the exsisting child restraint points in the D2 floor.
See If I can sort a pic or 2.

    Here you go Shamo.

The 60lt engel has the same footprint as mine but shorter,it will give more storage above the fridge.I removed the storage bins at the sides to free up more storage room.

I bought a 55l evakool for a Fraser trip in October and was impressed with it so far. By the time we got to Fraser it had frozen everything in it solid because some idiot forgot to set the thermostat before leaving

One advantage of them is they are made in QLD so your supporting an Aussie company and you can take it back to the factory if you do run into a problem.

I got ours from the local camping store for $990 with a 240v power supply.

I second that mine is 6 years old and still going strong.Evacool is reputed to have the best insulation of any fridge and uses the Danfoss Compressor the same as Waeco and Engel.

Which store did you buy it from in Brisbane? The evakool is looking pretty good if i can find one for that price, my mate has an evakool esky and it kept a bag of ice still mostly frozen for 5 days while we were at fraser, so they must have some pretty good insulation.
