My D4 is as I type this in the process of getting the above bar fitted.. I stuck my head in this arvo & saw the bar & flares off & the front looking kinda bare.. Anywho the hold up is the mechanic fitting the bar is a little unsure as to what tool to use to cut the flares. At first I thought it would be obvious, but then, I wouldn't want to F it up either..

						SubscriberAn air hacksaw is usually the tool of choice. The area around the surface to be cut is normally taped up. You do need to be careful...as the saw blade heats up, it cuts faster. If you hesitate, the plastic reseals/hardens around the blade. This can make the blade jump, and damage other surfaces....or break the blade.

Thank you Admiral, I've passed the info onto the mechanic.
When they finish the cut they put a little piece of "trim" plastic on the edge, it's held in place with double sided tape and in my experience this comes unstuck very quickly so I re-glued mine with some strong glue and now it's there to stay ... only a small thing but it annoyed me to see it hanging after a few days in the weather.

Yes I noticed that piece of trim.. It's still in the shop but almost finished. My mechanic can't believe the 'novel' for an instruction manual.
Ok I have to get a little technical.. Went & saw the D4 this morning, guards cut, no real issues except one thing... The under guard on the passenger side won't fit & by a long shot due to the size of the washer bottle (it hangs too low).

I recall some discussions on this forum regarding the need to move the washer bottle when fitting an ARB bar, but I thought that was on the V8 and petrol models.
Not sure what you have (petrol/diesel - 2.7 or 3.0) but should be easy enough to knock up another bracket or alter the mounting to allow it fit (I say this with absolutely no idea if that statement is is true or not) !!.
Alternatively have a chat to ARB as i am sure they are aware of this issue and might have a solution.

Thanks for your input, for the record my D4 is the 3.0L TDV6.. I'm actually not fitting the bar myself, I could have but decided against it due to work & family commitments etc.. I also thought it was a half day job.. Anyway the mechanic has contacted ARB but we're still waiting for a reply. Meanwhile I'm on foot...
