    ARB GAP as well

I had an ARB fitted to a Feb 2010 D4 3.0 and had to wait a while for it to be released and then a wait for new brackets etc. When it was all a goer they took three days to fit it and basically I think most of it was around the issue of not fitting up because of the washer bottle. They seemed to think something had change with D4. In the end they said it was done and were sort of apologetic about it taking so long and needing to use 4 washers to give a bit of gap so it fitted. There are three washers between the plate and the mounting all around to make it look the same on both sides. I don't notice anymore, and you really don't notice and have not had any issues with it. I got a set of max tracks for $100 because of the wait. So depending how close you are to fitting a few washers may do it?
    Regards
    Gerry

I think the bar is out by a long shot. I know the bar is sitting almost an inch lower than the bottom of the headlights just to allow for the washer bottle & even then the plate under the washer bottle is spaced out to fit. I did notice the bar sits right up close to the grill, if the bar was to move forward a little it may leave more room for the washer bottle but I'm not sure. I'll have a look when I wake up tomorrow.

It's interesting that ARB acknowledged the fitting problem with Gerry but not with mine.

    Cheers Rob

    D4 Bulbar Queries

    Hi All,

I am considering fitting a front bar on my Disco 4

Rather than starting a new thread, I have a couple of question re the ARB/OL D4 bar.

    1. Does an animal strike on the bar set off the protection airbags?

    2. Has anyone struck anything with the bar eg. tree, another car etc and set off the airbags?

    3. Anyone knows whether LR has rejected any warranty claims because of the bar?

    4. can the front lamp be removed with the bar on?

    regards

    1. Does an animal strike on the bar set off the protection airbags? If the strike is big enough, as it would without the bar

    2. Has anyone struck anything with the bar eg. tree, another car etc and set off the airbags? For me, not yet thankfully.

    3. Anyone knows whether LR has rejected any warranty claims because of the bar? They will if they can

    4. can the front lamp be removed with the bar on? YES

    regards

    D4 bar queries

    Thanks Redback

I remember now that someone put a post as to how to remove headlamp with bar on, if anyone can point me to the post, I can take it to my mechanic who thought that you need to remove the bar.

    regards

I made sure I had a good conversation by email (filed) with my dealer saying none of my mods would affect warranty so long as they were professionally fitted.
