I agree with earlier comments. It was a great day, well 2 days because the seminar was excellent too. Only downside was distance from Brisbane. I would have liked more time discussing all things Disco with everyone
It's a shame that we don't have the same variety of terrain closer to Brisbane, as seems to be the case with Perth. However, Gordon mentioned a Mt Cotton day that would cover other types of terrain later in the year and I am certainly in for that.
And I hope the RRV won't be too expensive to repair.
oh and for those of you asking, heres some pics of the aluminium extrusion i used to mount the maxtrax to my rhino pioneer platform at the back
I used two 1m lengths of 25x10x2mm hollow rectangular aluminium extrusion that i got from bunnings, some unistrut bolts and washers(i cut the spring in half to fit in the rhino channel) and the maxtrax mounting pins. The two lengths of aluminium sit parallel at the back of the roof rack, so that the maxtrax run along the back of the car.
Cheers
James

Reason: more info
Apologies that the day went so much longer than we planned, partially due to numpties getting stuck on the track in front of us, but also underestimating the King's Bore circuit.
Could those that have a few photos and/or videos please email them to me. I got a few vids of the beach and the emergency stop exercise, so I can collate them all into one dvd and send it out to each participant. I'll need a postal address as well.
Yes, we're organising another (Level 2) course either late this year or early next, at the Mt Cotton 4WD circuit, which will be a hills/rock climb event. First preference will be to those that came to yesterday's event, but we should be able to handle a few more cars this time, as it's a closed track.
Looks like you guys had a great day, i wish i was there.
Thank you for the seminar on Saturday Gordon it was very informative, it has also put my mind at rest using the controls. Cannot wait until the GOE accessories get to me will make the vehicle so much better again.
Was also great to meet fellow Disco owners on Saturday, would be good to maybe have a drive day sometime, maybe Glassy.

Thanks Gordon.
Although I have been out to Cooloola more than a few times, it was a great day. Disappointing that it rained a bit and wet down the tracks, so there wasn't much of a challenge for the Discos. My daughter loved the emergency break exercise and I learnt a few more tricks about the D4.
Looking forward to the next course when you come up this way. I haven't been to the Mt cotton 4wd track before, but am keen to practice some other Disco terrain.
Also hope there's more time to talk to the other participants.
